FOR THIS COURSE
Course Description:
It’s all about attitude . . .
This is the course that everyone is talking about. The half-day interactive Thinking Driver Course™ teaches drivers how to reduce stress, manage frustration and control anger on today’s busy roads.
By learning effective thinking skills, drivers are able to shift attitudinal gears, take responsibility for their emotional reactions while driving, choose positive actions to avoid confrontation, and stay safe and out of harm’s way.
About the course:
The Thinking Driver Course™ is the only course that addresses driver attitude in an effective and respectful way. Rather than just watching videos, which have little impact and preach to drivers, the course is fully interactive with drivers discussing driving challenges and solutions based on personal motivation.
Thinking Driver™ addresses the root causes of aggressive driving and helps drivers change the way they think, feel and behave behind the wheel.
The course utilizes advanced psychological and counseling techniques to change the way drivers see the actions of others and develop more effective responses. Anger management tools are a key component of the course content.
The course appeals to a broad audience from fleet drivers to daily commuters and is of special interest to Fleet Supervisors and Managers who are interested in the added benefit that attitude training provides in fuel savings, reduced vehicle abuse and discourtesy resulting in complaints against drivers.
Why Choose Thinking Driver?
Aggressive driving, road rage and poor driving attitudes are costing you money right now and the situation on North America’s roads is getting worse, not better.
Reduce your share of the $60 Billion annual costs associated with poor driving attitudes
Demonstrate due diligence by ensuring that your drivers are fully trained in avoiding on-the-road confrontations
Save money on insurance claims and lower your liability and insurance rates
Improve driver morale and productivity
Reduce driver stress and the sick time associated with stress
Eliminate complaints against drivers and enhance your corporate image
Thinking Driver Courses teach drivers how to manage stress and pressure on today’s busy roads, take responsibility for their emotional reactions while driving, choose positive actions to avoid confrontation, and stay safe and out of harm’s way.
Major benefits of training your drivers in Thinking Driver are:
Reduction in risky driving actions which could cause incidents;
Avoidance of personal confrontations and Road Rage incidents;
Reduced vehicle abuse and repair costs;
A more tolerant outlook towards other drivers.
The courses are suitable for all drivers including professional drivers, bus and taxi drivers, emergency vehicle drivers and anyone else who drives for a living.
The Thinking Driver series of courses were created by Spencer McDonald, driver psychology and counseling specialist to address the growing need to improve driver attitudes and reduce road rage and aggressive driving. Mr. McDonald has trained thousands of drivers and developed courses for law enforcement, emergency vehicle operators, and industry.
This course fills the needs of employers who want their employees to learn the principles of Defensive Driving, both on and off-the-job, in a time-saving four hours and has been approved by BP for all drivers who need defensive driving classroom training. We also offer road testing and coaching (see SAFE-48, Driver Portion)
