Staff Bio - Jean McCarthy

Ms. McCarthy has over 25 years’ experience in Physical Therapy. She started Alpine Physical Therapy with her husband, Gary McCarthy in 1979 and worked there as a Physical Therapist until 1997. Over the past eight years, Ms. McCarthy has specialized as a Functional Capacities Assessment Specialist at HealthSouth in Anchorage and at Sound Health in Chugiak.

Ms. McCarthy has additional training in assessing key functional capacities, treating whiplash, ergonomic and injury management, and treating osteoporosis.

She has maintained professional affiliations in the American Academy of Orthopedic Manual Therapists and American Physical Therapy Association. Ms. McCarthy was President of the Alaska Chapter of the American Physical Therapy Association from 1994-1997, and was the Chief Delegate for the Alaska Chapter of American Physical Therapy Association.
