Thinking
Drivers are Made, not Born
Nana Training Systems’ Thinking DriverTM course is aimed at improving a driver’s attitude while driving. Most driver improvement programs focus on the driver’s
skill at handling a vehicle and knowledge of driving. However,
skill and knowledge are not enough! The top
five contributing factors to crashes are not skill or knowledge
related – they are attitude related! According to the
Traffic Injury Research Foundation, the top five factors contributing
to crashes are:
- Driving without due care;
- Failing to yield right of way;
- Unsafe speed;
- Following too closely; and
- Ignoring traffic control device.
Attitude determines how the driver will choose to apply their skills and knowledge.
Nana’s Thinking DriverTM course targets driver attitudes using a combination of lecture,
interactive activities, and provides each driver with a personal
workbook. This course empowers drivers to take control of
aggressive urges and negative driving attitudes.
Your drivers will learn:
- How to avoid aggressive driving and road rage incidents;
- Personal risk management techniques;
- How to manage driving stress;
- How to act within the driving circle of control;
- The causes of driving frustration and anger and how
to avoid it; and
- How to develop a winning driving attitude.
Drivers are encouraged to examine their assumptions about
driving and themselves and are challenged to commit to specific
positive driving changes.
